Amanda Jacobs Ballard is a close family friend who lost her son, Lance Corporal Jacob Levy in 2011. A Gold Star Mother herself, she continues to help others who are grieving. Amanda works with Honor Brewing Company who donates to and supports Gold Star Families. Intrigued by her story and the work that Honor Brewing Company does I began writing a song about someone’s passion to make a difference. I felt I needed to meet with Allen Cage, Founder and CEO of Honor Brewing, in person to get the full story — and Amanda helped make that happen.

As we sat and talked, he shared his life story and his love for his country and all it stands for. I knew I wanted to dig deep for lyrics that are a salute to all of our Military and First Responders!

Allen came to Nashville, and we put together some of the best in the industry to record the song at Sound Emporium, a legendary recording studio. As the studio band was preparing to start production, I remember saying a silent prayer that this song would help touch many lives and make a difference! At the end of the session, I could see that Allen was so happy with the production and how the song arrangement turned out. We can’t wait for the world to hear this fantastic song written by myself, Austin James, Rick Dawson, and Greg Crowe. It is truly an honor to be a part of such a great company that has made an amazing impact on countless lives. Stay tuned for the song debut!
